Birth Center and Home Birth Doula Services in Chicagoland

When you book my birth center or home birth doula services, you will have immediate, full access to me by phone and text. You’ll also receive access to my extensive perinatal resources (including handouts) and personalized recommendations for local service providers. As a DONA certified doula, I’m here to help you prepare for birth with steady, informed support.

• Your pregnancy support includes four scheduled in-person sessions: one within a week of hire, then 3 additional prenatal visits around 24, 31, and 35 weeks.

• The first in-person session involves new client intake - we’ll talk through your hopes, goals, values, concerns, communication style, and how your partner and I will work together to ensure they feel supported, as well.

• During prenatal visits, we’ll walk through exercises you can begin right away, including those you can practice using your birth ball. Every client will receive a properly sized one as a gift! We’ll also explore relaxation, breathing, and comfort techniques, and rehearse labor positions using the peanut ball and CUB positioner, which are tools that I bring to every birth.

• We’ll also create your customized birth intentions together and finalize this document by prenatal session number four so you can then share this document with your provider.

• Other important topics that will be covered are:

  • Failure to Progress (and ways to work with your body in those instances)

Every family approaches birth a little differently, and part of my prenatal work is making sure you feel prepared for the setting you’ve chosen. We’ll talk through what support may look like during labor and ways to create an environment that feels calm and comfortable for you.

My role is to remain focused on you: offering reassurance, hands-on comfort measures, information, advocacy and encouragement as labor progresses.

Beginning at 36 weeks (or earlier for twins or clients with a history of preterm birth), I provide 24/7 on-call support to ensure you feel fully supported as your guess date (estimated due date) approaches.

As your estimated due date approaches, I will stay in regular contact to check in on how you're feeling—physically, emotionally, and mentally—so you’re never navigating this final stretch alone.

Beginning at 38 weeks, I will send you a daily illustrated birth affirmation via text (created by Mama Natural).

Every birth unfolds differently, and the support you need can change as labor progresses. My birth center and home birth doula services are designed to work alongside the care you’re already receiving, while giving you consistent one-on-one support throughout the experience.

We’ll stay in close communication as early labor begins. Together, we’ll continually assess how you’re feeling—both physically and emotionally—and determine the right time for me to join you at home as you continue through your labor. As your birth doula, I will join you earlier in labor or as you transition into active labor, depending on your unique wishes.

I can also help you and your partner adapt as labor changes, whether that means trying a new position, using comfort techniques we practiced prenatally, or simply providing a steady presence when you need extra reassurance.

You will be provided with continuous labor support—throughout labor, second stage pushing, and through welcoming your little love earthside!

After your baby is born, I’ll stay with you and provide support until you, your partner, and baby feel settled, including support with the first feeding.

I will provide two postpartum visits in your home.

The first visit takes place within 48-72 hours of your baby being born, which focuses on feeding, mom’s healing, and immediate newborn care questions.

During the second visit, typically on day 7 or 8, we’ll review and debrief your labor and birth experience, discuss newborn care questions, and address any feeding questions or concerns you may have. 

During the first six weeks following your baby's birth, I will provide any resources or referrals that may be requested, as well as phone, text, and email support.

I also love when clients choose to stay in touch and share updates as their babies grow and reach new milestones—rolling over, sitting up, crawling, walking, and more!
